Three Video Tips this month
- Tip 1 – Pre Shot Routine and Alignment
- Tip 2 – Great Wedge Play Part 1.
- Tip 3 – The 3 Critical Variables & how they affect your game Part 1.
The Great Jack Nicklaus once quoted

In my 1st video tip I cover developing a strategy before you hit, centring around the 1st phase – set up routine.
Now, tips on how not to lose your temper.
We generally don’t go from calm to lose control immediately. When you’re performing poorly, you start thinking too much. Now the downward spiral starts to occur. When you catch your self showing signs of this downward spiral i.e. poor body language or poor self talk do 1 or all of the following.
- focus on a past good performance
- focus on breath
- notice something with your eyes, i.e. the nice cut fairway
- be grateful for something outside of golf
You choose but the idea is to bring your state back to the calm place. A calm stay your in, when playing your best.
Not many golfers ask for lessons or work at the mental side of the game. However you could really improve your consistency and enjoyment of the game.

Season Review
I consider my season to be a successful one, playing in the open qualifier at Frilford Heath a tremendous golf course in Oxford and sixth place finish in the Leeds Cup the oldest professional tournament in England being my two high lights.
Two other tournament I really enjoy were representing Lee Park. Firstly at the
PGA Pro Captain Challenge. I played with Lee Park Captain Chris Farley. We had a great day at Ormskirk Golf Club and we did our selves justice.
The Other was at the PGA National Pro Am. I played with Peter Wilson at Sherwood Forest another top course. Peter qualified to play with me by winning the founders trophy at Lee Park. We had 42 points and finished 9th very respectable performance on a tough track.
How do you feel about your season ?
Did you achieve any of your goals ?
